Web Design & Development: Websites that work as hard as your best salesperson.

What is web design and development?

Web design and development is the planning, design and engineering of a website so that it explains what a business does, earns the visitor’s trust and makes the next step — an enquiry, a booking, a purchase — easy to take. At Witty it covers strategy, UX, visual design, build, content structure, SEO foundations and launch.

A website is not a brochure. It is the first meeting most customers have with you, and it keeps working at 3 a.m. We design it around the decisions your visitors need to make, then engineer it to load fast, rank well and stay easy for your team to update.

Problems we solve

  • It looks dated next to competitors

Visitors judge credibility in seconds. If your site feels older than your business, it quietly costs you enquiries you never hear about.

  • People visit but do not get in touch

Unclear structure, buried calls to action and long forms are the usual culprits. We redesign the journey, not just the colours.

  • Mobile is an afterthought

Most of your traffic is probably on a phone. We design mobile layouts deliberately rather than shrinking the desktop version.

  • Every change needs a developer

We set up WordPress, Elementor or a headless CMS so your team can edit pages, publish news and add projects without breaking the design.

How it works

From first call to results

  1. Step 1: Discover

We audit your current site, analytics and competitors, and agree what the website must achieve.

  2. Step 2: Structure

Sitemap, page priorities and wireframes — the conversations about content happen before design, not after.

  3. Step 3: Design

Visual direction, then full page designs for desktop and mobile, reviewed with you in the browser.

  4. Step 4: Build & test

Development, content entry, SEO setup, performance tuning and accessibility checks on real devices.

  5. Step 5: Launch & improve

Redirects, analytics, Search Console, training for your team, and a plan for what to improve next.

FAQ

Questions we’re often asked

Straight answers about web design & development. Can’t see your question? Ask us directly.

How long does a new website take?

A focused corporate website typically takes around six to ten weeks from kickoff to launch. Larger sites with custom functionality, many templates or content migration take longer. We give you a dated plan after discovery, and the biggest variable is usually how quickly content and feedback arrive.

Should we use WordPress or a custom build?

WordPress suits most businesses that publish regularly and want a familiar editor. A custom or headless build makes sense when performance, interactive storytelling or integration with other systems matter more. We recommend one after understanding how your team will actually maintain the site.

Can you redesign our site without losing our Google rankings?

Yes, if the migration is planned. We map every existing URL, keep the ones that carry value, set up 301 redirects for the rest, and check indexing in Search Console after launch.

Will we be able to update the website ourselves?

Yes. We build editable templates, train your team and leave short documentation. If you prefer, we can also maintain the site for you on a monthly plan.

Do you write the content?

We can. We structure every page around the questions your customers ask and can write or edit the copy, or work with your existing material.
